Summary of Projects funded by the Embassy around China

Yunnan
　
In 2006 the Embassy funded three projects in Malipo County, Yunnan Province to provide clean drinking water, electricity and a medical clinic to the remote Longga area. The initiative to fund these projects came from a discussion on development aid between Ireland’s Minister of State for Development Cooperation, Mr Conor Lenihan T.D. and Vice-Minister Zhang Yesui in Beijing in March 2006. In May 2007, Ambassador Declan Kelleher visited Malipo County and officially inspected the three projects.
